Question 6 - what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?

In Design

Whilst doing my magazine I have been using a programme called in design. I have used in design for working on my contents page and double page spread. In design has helped me with laying out my magazine and putting text into my magazine. As I have never used in design before doing my coursework i was very unfamiliar with the programme but over the past couple of weeks i have got the grip of it and now feel comfortable with using in design. In design allowed me to used a range of tools to benefit my magazine.

I have learnt to use the type tool to help me select my columns and where I was going to place my text. It was important that I knew how to use the type tool as for my contents page, Double page spread and Front cover i was able to put in the same about of columns on each page.

This is another tool that I learnt to use during creating my magazine (the rectangle frame tool) this tool inserts images. It was important that i knew this and how to use it correctly as it gave me complete freeness of where to place my images and didn't restrict me

This is the selection tool. When i finished my magazine I depended on this tool as I wanted everything to be in the correct position for my magazine to reach its full potential.

Photoshop

A different programme which has been a huge advantage when making my magazine is Adobe Photoshop. I used Photoshop to create the whole of my front cover but also editing some of the pictures which are on my contents page and double page spread. Photo shop allowed me to use a range of tools to create my magazine by using different fonts, different colours, text and has a wide range of choices to choose from. I also think that by using Photoshop to edit my photos made these look more appealing by maybe adjusting the lighting or cropping the image a bit. Every tool I used gave my magazine a advantage.

Blogger

Blogger is a website that I have used throughout creating and planning my magazine. I have learnt to use this by being aware of where the date are on the website so it is easy and quick for me to see what i need to do next in order for my magazine to be successful. Blogger was a good website to use as i have used it to my advantage and used it as a diary.

Digital single lens reflex camera.

To take all of my photo's which are included within my magazine I used a digital single lens reflex camera. I was familiar with this camera that is why I chose to use this rather than a normal camera. I also used this as the image was better quality. I learnt about the lighting of the camera and used this as an advantage when taking the photos for my magazine.
